"Taking pop art to a whole new level, eight young and upcoming Swede artists and illustrators show off their edgy and modern interpretations of contemporary culture in the exhibition Swedish Cliches. Taking the idea of "cliché" and spinning it on its head (think alternative takes on Swedish meatballs, IKEA and oversexualized imageries), the quirky artworks pay homage to these typical Swede presumptions and preconceptions--questioning whether they are true or not along the way.

But not just mere clichés, these works are fresh representations of the Swede art movement today--
playing on the different themes, energies, societal concerns and influences that prevail among these forward-thinking artists. Traversing different mediums--from acrylic works to graphic prints to drawings to found imageries--the works are relevant, vivid, vivacious, emotive and most importantly, affecting--all at once."
